SMASHING ABSTRACTS
WORKSHOP
JULY 8 - 11, 2008
This
workshop is designed for the artist who is interested in learning
what to do with the beautiful, bright, and crazy shapes and colors
that you have experimented with creatively. Besides some demos on
the Cadillac method of layering and techniques with acrylics,
students will study several methods of pulling exciting experiments
into a smashing paintings. Students should have some experience in
working with acrylic paints and with the collage processes. A supply
list will be available with signup (see other side of prospectus).
This outstanding workshop is limited to 20 participants paid in
full. The fee is $400 to nonmembers of ISAP or SCAL; $350 to
ISAP and SCAL members; $350 to nonmembers of ISAP or SCAL if
postmarked by February 1; $300 to ISAP members only if
postmarked by February 1. Acceptance of participants is on a
first-come-first-served basis and a waiting list will form
thereafter. Cancellations will be honored with full refunds
if the position is filled from the wait list or proof of medical
emergency is supplied prior to May 1, 2008. Thereafter, and
if no one on the wait list can fill the position, a $100
cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.
A supply list will be provided upon
registration. Arrangements have been made with the local Chamber of
Commerce to send information packets regarding hotels and activities
upon receipt of your reservation form. Please note that Santa Cruz
is a high tourist destination due to the amusement park on the
beach, free Friday night concerts on the beach, access to the ocean,
and the Shakespeare Santa Cruz Festival, so early decisions will
work to your advantage. Also, the Workshop Show Opening is one week
after the July 4 weekend so hotel bookings should be done at your
earliest convenience.
